9 Quick & Healthy Work Snacks for The Busy Entrepreneur

Food doesn’t just affect your weight and health; it also affects your efficiency at work.

If you eat sugary snacks, chances are you’ll get sleepy afterwards and that won’t work for a busy entrepreneur. That’s because when you eat sugar, it causes your blood sugar to spike and then crash. Here are several healthy snacks that will keep your energy going all day and your productivity at a high level. Aim for snacks that are free of chemicals and artificial colors and flavors.

1. Almonds

Almonds are a great source of protein and healthy fat. They contain fiber and are rich in Vitamin E.  They also contain monounsaturated fats that increase HDL (good cholesterol) levels.

2. Apples and Peanut Butter

Get fiber, protein and carbs for energy. Choose the type of peanut butter like but stay away from added sugars.  Organic is best.

3. Fresh Fruit

Fruits are a great source of vitamins and minerals.  They have natural sweeteners and are a great source of antioxidants, strengthening your immune system.

4. Dried Fruit

Affirmations can keep your mind positive. Make a stack on 3x5 cards and post them in various locations where you’ll see them during the day. After a while, you may get tired of seeing one. That’s why it’s good to change them up. Rotate affirmations and put them in different locations.

5. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Eggs are a great source of protein and will help stabilize your blood sugar and satisfy hunger.

6. Popcorn (low fat)

This snack will satisfy your craving for something crunchy and salty without a lot of added fat and chemicals.

7. Yogurt

Try unsweetened and add your own fresh fruit.  Yogurt is great for adding good bacteria to your digestive tract.  It has probiotics, protein, calcium, potassium and magnesium (good minerals to help you stay calm).

8. Veggies and Hummus

This is a great source of calcium, fiber and carbohydrates.

9. Wasabi Peas (dried)

These are crunchy, have protein and fiber, and keep your blood sugar stable.
