Our 3 Must-Have Fall Work From Home Wardrobe Staples

Working from home means you don't always have to get dressed, but numerous people swear by the act of getting dressed and commuting across the house as a way to feel prepared for the workday and to add some healthy work-life separation. We'll be honest - there's no makeup to be found in this office, nor are there usually nice outfits. BUT we do like to at least trade in our pajamas for a cozy daytime outfit when we "go to work" so we can be comfy, warm, and maybe even ready for a midday workout. Here are our "work from home" autumn staples:

1. Warm Leggings & Sweatpants

We love a good pair of leggings for fall. And who doesn't? Some of our favorites are Hue leggings, an in-house Nordstrom brand. We find them to be just thick enough to provide a little warmth, plenty stretchy, and most importantly, they are VERY affordable for how well made they are. For sweatpants we're totally Adidas junkies so most days you can catch us in their sweats or training pants. They're both super comfy and, like the leggings, will help you transition seamlessly into your lunch break workout.

2. Cozy Oversized Sweaters

Nothing says fall like a comfy, oversized sweater. They're the easiest thing to put on, and always look cute in case someone drops by. They are a great investment piece as well if you're looking to get something that will last season after season. If you want something affordable and comfy, we recommend checking out the sweaters from American Eagle Outfitters. They always have great sales, and their sweaters are some of our favorites - often featuring cute details and trendy styles. If you're willing to make more of an investment in your wardrobe, or want THE COZIEST sweaters to wear year after year we recommend browsing Nordstrom for a cashmere sweater. From their in-house label Halogen to Vince, you are guaranteed to find something incredibly soft and stylish.

3. Soft Plain T-Shirts

We love soft t-shirts for layering in fall when on some days it can still get warm inside and on others we'll be pulling on a big sweater to stay comfortable. They're a staple in our wardrobe year-round because they're not only great for the home office, but also perfect for casual meetings. Fabric is ESSENTIAL when finding a perfect, soft, durable tee. We love cotton or cotton blends.
